What a visitor can see, click and hover in the results list and the info window.
Hide the scrollbar?
Only shown when the active template places the listing below the map. Removes the scrollbar from the listing so it grows to its full height and the page scrolls instead.
Open links in a new window?
Makes links in the store details open in a new tab.
Show a reset map button?
Adds a reset button in the bottom right corner. Clicking it restores the map to how it looked when the page loaded — but only if the viewport was actually changed, so it stays out of the way otherwise.
Show the route on an external website?
- Enabled — the directions link opens the route on an external site in a new window.
- Disabled — the route is drawn on the map embedded in your page.
Make the contact details always clickable?
Turns the phone number and email into links everywhere, not just on mobile.
Hide days marked as closed in the opening hours?
Drops closed days from the list instead of showing them as “Closed”. A location open three days a week reads much better this way.
Show the current open / closed status?
Adds an “Open now” / “Closed” badge based on the location’s opening hours and the site’s timezone.
Make the current opening status expandable in the search results?
Lets a visitor click the open/closed badge to unfold the full week’s hours, instead of only seeing today’s state.
Make the store name clickable if a store URL exists?
Links the location name to the URL stored against it.
Make the phone number clickable on mobile devices?
Turns the phone number into a tel: link on phones.
Show a “Street view” link in the info window when available for the location?
Adds a Street view link, but only where street view actually exists for that spot.
Expect a small delay when the info window opens. The moment a visitor clicks a marker, a request goes out to check street view availability, and the window waits on the answer. On a busy site those requests add up.
Show a “Zoom here” link in the info window?
Adds a link that zooms straight to the Max auto zoom level set in the Map section.
On page load move the mouse cursor to the search field?
Focuses the search field as soon as the page loads.
Hide the country in the results?
Drops the country line from each result. Sensible on a single-country locator, where it is the same on every row.
Hide the distance in the results?
Drops the distance from each result.
When hovering over a search result, the matching marker
- Bounces up and down
- Will open the info window (Google Maps only)
- Does not respond
Mapbox and OpenStreetMap only support bouncing, so the info window option is not offered for them.
Clicking on the address details opens the info window on the map?
Makes the whole address block in a result a target for opening that location’s info window, rather than only the marker.
Address format
How the city, state and postcode are arranged:
- (city) (state) (zip code)
- (city), (state) (zip code)
- (city) (zip code)
- (city), (zip code)
- (zip code) (city) (state)
- (zip code) (city)
Add your own with the wpsl_address_formats filter.
